Part of School at Sea is the preliminary process in which you have to do your utmost to raise 26,000 euros to pay for the trip. This is a lot of money, but it is a six-month journey, so you will need six months' accommodation, food, six first-grade teachers to guide you, a professional crew consisting of captains and steersmen, and fuel for the ship. This preliminary stage is also very instructive.

During exchanges with schools along the route, I will explain to the local pupils what The Ocean Cleanup is and what it does. In this way, I hope to do my bit to reduce the plastic soup in the ocean.
